August 2007 - Titan Outdoor, the UK leader for total outdoor solutions, has been awarded the three year outdoor advertising contract for The O2 – London’s newest state of the art venue. This is the first venue of its kind in the UK, a highly desirable location offering unique, high-impact opportunities to advertisers. Titan will work with AEG Europe, owner of The O2, to develop digital, brand-to-hand and other offerings that maximise the potential of this world-class space, building on the 6-screen digital network, backlits and banners already in place.

The O2 sets a new benchmark for large-scale entertainment venues in the UK. Its star-studded opening season commenced on June 24th with Bon Jovi followed by Justin Timberlake, Scissor Sisters, World Championship boxing with Amir Khan and the legendary Barbra Streisand. Upcoming events include more Prince dates (he will have achieved a record breaking 21 in total), The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Take That and smash hit exhibition ‘Tutankhamun and The Golden Age of the Pharaohs’. The O2, formerly the Millennium Dome, hosts a 20,000 main arena, indigO2 - a smaller 2,350 capacity live music venue, an 11 screen Vue cinema complex, and over 20 bars and restaurants. It is so big that if you turned The O2 upside down, it would take Niagara Falls 15 minutes to fill it; it’s 13 times as big as the Royal Albert Hall.

Andy Moug, Managing Director, Titan Outdoor UK, commented:

“We are very excited to be part of The O2, it is a truly unique venue in the UK. AEG Europe has done a fantastic job creating a dynamic and high-tech venue, making them a natural partner for Titan. This destination space is a great addition to the Titan portfolio of premium, innovative products across rail, retail, roadside that give advertisers total solutions for their outdoor needs.”

Lee Roberts, Commercial Director, AEG Europe, added:

“We are delighted to be working with Titan who understand the issues that arise from a multi sponsored venue such as The O2. Their ability to deliver creative solutions has been thoroughly impressive.”
