29 January, 2007 - Titan Outdoor, the world’s fastest growing outdoor advertising company, is pleased to announce it has been awarded preferred bidder status by Southeastern following a competitive bid. The five year contract covers all poster sites and sponsorships of Southeastern stations. Titan has held the contract for the past 7 years.
A cornerstone of Titan’s UK strategy is to maintain and build on their dominance in outdoor rail. The news on Southeastern reinforces Titan’s number one position in rail, with a strategic focus on a premium, national portfolio of stations delivering 86%* of the UK rail audience to advertisers every day. It further reinforces Titan’s strategy to focus on London and the South East which account for 69%** of all UK rail journeys.
Southeastern, part of the Go-Ahead Group, has 182 stations across south east London, Kent and parts of East Sussex. Approximately 140 million passenger journeys are made every year on their services, with 120,000 people using Southeastern’s major commuter routes into London Victoria, Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East every morning peak hour. Titan also holds a five year contract with Southern, another member of the Go-Ahead Group, making Titan Go-Ahead's rail partner of choice.
Titan’s preferred bidder status with Southeastern coincides with train operator’s plans to invest across the network over the next six years. Southeastern also plans to introduce a high speed train service linking London and Kent in December 2009.
Commenting on the deal, Andy Moug, Joint Managing Director, said “Titan is delighted to be selected by Southeastern ahead of a competitive field, reinforcing our dominant position in rail. We look forward to working with Southeastern during an exciting period of development both for outdoor generally, and Southeastern itself. We offer advertisers the best possible access to the UK’s rail audience by a long way. As commuter numbers increase, outdoor grows as a medium, and technology allows us to be ever more creative, our national, premium rail portfolio gives advertisers unprecedented access and innovation.”
