Chicago & New York—December, 2006—Titan Worldwide (www.titanoutdoor.com), history’s fastest growing out-of-home advertising company, today announced that it has been awarded the exclusive contract to sell advertising media on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) (http://www.transitchicago.com/). In a three-year contract beginning February 1st, 2007, Titan Worldwide will assume all advertising sales responsibilities within CTA’s service area, including the city of Chicago and 40 surrounding suburbs.
Titan Worldwide now controls major transit markets throughout the United States, including: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New Jersey, Orange County and Seattle. Titan has quickly become a diversified global media conglomerate with Bus, Commuter Rail, Subway, traditional Outdoor billboards and other Out of Home properties. Titan is a company that enjoys a truly impressive growth story. Founded in 2001 by Out-of-Home visionary William Apfelbaum, and led by President and CEO Donald Allman, Titan began with just 12 employees and close to $3 million in net revenue. Five years later, Titan Worldwide now counts 700+ employees and pro forma sales for 2006 of approximately $400 million.
“Titan is extremely pleased that the CTA has selected us as their transit advertising sales partner,” said Titan Worldwide CEO Don Allman. “It’s very exciting to establish a presence in Chicago. As we have done in all of our newly acquired transit markets, we look forward to generating significant revenue for the transit authority and continuing to provide excellent service to our clients.”
With approximately 2,000 buses operating more than 154 routes and 2,273 route miles, the CTA provides nearly 1.5 million rides on an average weekday. CTA buses provide about 1 million passenger trips a day and serve more than 12,000 posted bus stops. And CTA's 1,190 rapid transit cars (The “L”) operate more than eight routes and 222 miles of track, while servicing two major airports—O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport.
Beginning in February, Titan will have the opportunity to offer clients a variety of advertising solutions throughout Chicago, including full wraps, traditional King size posters (30” x 144”), taillight displays (21” x 72”), fullback advertisements and a variety of subway advertising opportunities.
